I ended up with this question over in the "Paper Trail" section when I posted the cowl tag and figured this is a better place for it.

This 70 Skylark Custom convertible my father just acquired has a 175 interior code on the cowl tag which should be pearl white. Someone in my thread over there said the front seat should be a bench with a fold down armrest, somebody else said it should be a 60/40 seat or a notchback seat. Forgive the ignorance but I don't know what the difference is between those.

I believe the previous owner said it had "new marine leather" so I have a sneaking suspicion the front seats in the car are retrofitted in from a boat... :eek2:

The rear seat bottom isn't attached to the floor at all; looks like it should be but it isn't.

I don't think the door panels are the original style either, even though the power window switches, door locks, rear seat armrest lights and ashtrays appear to be in the right spot. Anybody recognize any of this?

Looks like custom seats and interior.

    Guys,
The front bucket seats are the same seat as 64-65 GM cars. I don't remember when they started that type seat, possibly as early as 62, then someone put different design covers on the seats/doorpanels.

Yeah, Duane, I think you're right. :TU: I looked at a few pics of 64-65 Impalas and Grand Prixs and the buckets they have are the same general shape with that ~3" wide metal strip on the sides and top.

If we were to go to the correct 69-72 A body buckets can anybody tell if the mounting brackets on the floor would have to be changed, given the seats in there now? Anything I should know about the seat tracks or anything else?
