    hello

I bought an old trailer(caravan)from 1971,i want to tow it with my 64 cat.

Do i need to put an extra transmission oilcooler between the trans and the rad,or should i block the original cooler off and use only an external cooler???

    any suggestions????

    greetings wilfred

I have typically run the cooler line from the trans, to the rad. to an aux in front of the rad. and back. Sometimes running them through the rad can create a little more heat if the engine runs warm/hot. but if the engine runs cool, there should be no trouble.
However, if you buy a goodsize aux cooler, you shouldn't need to run it through the rad at all. I have set them up both ways depending on what the orig radiator was (ie: orig stick shift car/truck converted to auto-or orig auto truck looking to cool trans more for towing).
I think the easier choice is to buy a big aux cooler and just run the one, then block off the radiator ports.

In Holland I think it's pretty cool, but I would recommend installing a large aux. oil cooler and bypassing the readiator for max. cooling....
