Hi - I'm from Germany and not used to the american standart.
We have newton meter and now I should know how many newton meter are:

    30 ft. lbs.
    and 12.5 foot pounds

maybe someone can tell me how I have to calculate - that would be helpful !

Thanks from the black forest Germany - Herby

By the way - it is for tightening my front wheel bearings on my Electra 225 '60

Print out this conversion factors information (found in every Haynes manual),
and hang it on your garage wall, or keep it in your glove box :TU:

But you don't need a torque wrench to adjust the front wheel bearings.

Install the bearing, washer and nut.
Tighten the nut but don't use brute force.
Let the wheel spin to set the bearing.
Loose the nut again, and turn it by hand until you can't feel any play (check this with the wheel in place on the hub)
Now tighten the nut with a tool until the cotter pin can go through the next hole that will show up.
Don't forget to put new bearing grease inside the grease cap that goes over the nut :TU:
