 I need to know what the torque specs are for rod bolts on a 455 from a 70 Riv going into my 69 GS. according to #'s, my buick recuild book didn't have them. It was either 65 or 75, so I went with 70 and the torque wrench wouldn't set. End result, I snapped one :( and stripped the other on the same rod. :spank:
Rod specs, head specs, balancer specs, headers if there are....
    :beer
    Thanks,
    Scott:grin:

Don't feel bad, when I built my 425, I did the same thing. My cheep craftsman clicking torque wrench was frozen up. Luckily Carmen lives nearby and had another one.

Just be sure to get new bolts, don't try to re-use stretched ones especially on a connecting rod. Your wrench may be no good as well. If it's a craftsman, go to sears and exchange it for a new one.:Smarty:

According to my '72 factory manual, those should be 45 ft/lbs.:spank:
