Yep, they are. The only thing I've run into is that some flexplates are only stamped for the larger diameter torque converter bolt circle which may be a big-car thing, while many have two patterns stamped. Devon
Thanks, I was having trouble a few minutes ago getting my converter to set into the new th400. Thought it would not work, but with a little determination its on
Forgive me if we've been over this before, but do you know how to be sure the converter is fully inserted into the front pump? Devon
Well, forgive me because the answer is not really sure. Seems like it clicked 3 times. Started to spin it and oil started coming out of the line connections? What is the trick my friend?? Want no mistakes tomorrow morning
You're golden. When the trans is being bolted to the engine, you should see a gap between the converter lugs and the flexplate (if you don't see it right away, you should be able to push the converter back into the transmission to create the gap). Watch that gap while you tighten the bellhousing bolts. If the converter binds against the flexplate before the trans is snug with the engine, the converter has slid forward and may have disengaged the front pump. Make sure you have the gap and that the torque converter spins freely before you tighten the bellhousing bolts. Devon
If you heard my last attempt at the Bohemian Rhapsody guitar solo you would have a different opinion. Devon
See.....I stick to the easy songs with simple chords. Took me 5 years to just get the intro to Dead or Alive Bon Jovi down LOL
