George..PM sent. btw; looking at my 67 GS, it appears the lower stainless trim from those grilles is the same as the top stainless trim piece?
George.... if no one comes thru for you..consider this. We have here, perhaps the finest stainless steel repair tech in the south! Gale (known around these parts as Mr Stainless Steel) has been repairing, hand manufacturing ONE-OF-A-KIND stainless hubcaps, constructing stainless steel trim for custom cars that never had them in the first place..and he repairs damaged stainless for a living. He can fix your piece, GUARANTEED. He is not cheap tho. Example, he removed a few slight imperfections and perfectly polished the windshield stainless, rear window stainless and original rocker trims for my 70 Stage 1 for $490. He has done all my polishing for the last 19 years. IF YOU WISH...send me a few pix of your damaged trim and I'll get him to quote repairing it for you. Wheelz, Tampa bay SEND pix: Penwheelz2@ij.net
The top + bottom are different pieces, no question about it. EVERY 67 I've seen, including all the cars at the Nats have a W shaped crimp on the top stainless on the driver's side. I can't see how it could happen, but they all seem to have it. I DID find an original grill in Carlisle last Fall. It was cheap, unbroken...and had perfect top SS. Only one I've seen!
Yup mine has it too and all of them i`ve seen have it i don't know why?i have it on mine and i wanna replace it.
