Did not really mean to :Dou: Was cruising with the GN on Woodward last night and was in the 3rd lane at a light and wanted to get to the right hand lane. I knew there was a SUV to the right but did not give it a second thought. I was quick on the light becuase I wanted to get the lane, but was not powerbraking just going for smooth takeoff without spinning. For a second I heard a lot of thrashing roar beside me so just rode the boost until it was gone and got my lane.

Next light this new Jeep is next to me and I still do not pay much attention to it. Then start to hear powerbraking from the thing. Light turns and the Jeep gets the leave. So I ride the booost again and do a quick catch then let off and let the chicken cackle (sound the GN makes when you let off under boost.)

My nephew then tells me the Jeep is an SRT8 model and is supposed to be a pretty bad critter. Good thing it did not come up against a fast GN

Taking the GSx out tonight.. not many want any part of that. Do have to take out a loan for gas though.

Those Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8's are pretty quick. I drove one when my parents were looking at purchasing one. They're suppose to do 0-60 in under 5 seconds. That is what I've read on the internet anyway. I was impressed with it when I drove it.

Did you win the second little run? I surmised you did.

I am going to the track with my GN for the first time next Friday night. I have NO idea what it might do...

I think the second one was a win too, caught him put a nose in front and backed off. Not a good idea to get caught "racing" at the cruise. Also the traffic can be so bad that the bicycle cops can run you down.

I have to admit that all wheel drive does come off the line hard. We had good air that night so the turbo cars were felling pretty good.

Looking at rain right now so glad I spent a the last 3 days doing some cruising. Hope to get a break in the rain but not looking good now.

I went up Friday morning with the GS. 220 Miles one way. Tried to do some cruising Friday night, couldn't do much. Too many mom and pop mobiles. Parked it around 13 mile road and watched until they broke it up around 10 PM. I heard burn out tickets were $100.00. Lots of police on motorcycles and bicycles and they had zero tolerance for burn outs no matter how small and "jaywalking" in the middle of the block.
Stayed until around 11:00 am Saturday morning and left because of the rain. I think it stopped raining about 1/2 hr. after I left (bummer). Overall pretty dissapointed in the whole thing. Mike D.

It's been tough lately, the only semi race was with a Dodge Magnum but not much, they got off the line first but it ended pretty quick. It seems like I am always in the wrong car, you know how that works. Driving the Porsche, I get these silly M3 BMWs wanting to race, what, can't they read, the only thing you race with a Porsche is another Porsche, kind of like driving a Harley, you can only race another Harley. The BMWs never try the Buick.
I did have a diesel Ford Pickup try a while back but just not much happening lately. I do look.

I just got next month's issue of Street Thunder magazine and they tested the new Jeep SRT8 and said 0-60 comes in 4.5sec, 1/4 mile is 13.2 sec. It is a 420hp, 420 ft/lb 6.1ltr hemi with a top speed of 155mph. Not bad. They have a base price of $39,000+ so that means none in my future.(The one in the magazine was at $45,630 with the extra's like gps, heated seats, power moon roof and all those other great performance options.) Makes me wonder what a stripped down model with a supercharger and nitrous would do.

My GN will not turn 13.2 yet. Best is 13.6. Maybe they had it full of passengers. Then again how often do we see magazines claim something that the normal buyer can't duplicate with what they bought off the lot.
