Too low

Just finished a suspension and brake upgrade on my son's 72 Skylark. We installed UMI adjustable rear control arms and BMR front A-arms with BMR 2" lowering springs on front and back. Now it looks cool but is definitely sitting too low and the crossmember is just a hair over 2 inches from the ground with the A-arms getting into the fender well.

I think we'll be ordering some new front springs at least. I'm a little concerned the 1" lowering springs may even be too much. Thoughts?

Speaking from experience, 5" of clearance is about as low as you want to go...

What did it look like with the old springs? You could put a 2" spacer in the spring pocket of the lower control arm and that should add at least 3-4" to the ride height.

There is no such thing as too low, you just have to relearn how to drive. Lol.
    Thanks

When a car sits that low with the wheel/tire that far up into the wheel house, it looks tired, worn out.

We just installed 1" drop BMR springs in my wife's 67' and it is also too low. The tires rub like crazy. I am sure even "stock" height BMR springs are lower than stock.
