My sister and I went to Petco Park today for the Padres/Dodgers game. Interesting and mostly fun day!!:TU:

The game was already sold out, so we ended up driving around a bit to find some tickets for sale......$20 EACH for $5 tickets.:Dou: Oh well, what are you going to do.

We ended up getting tickets to the grassy area in center field. Oddly enough, it wasn't that bad of a view from there. Only bad part was standing the whole time. Oh.....and then there was the little matter of who was standing around us.

Keep in mind, I'm a diehard Yankees fan.....have been since I was a kid. So....I didn't really care who won. The 1st place Dodgers were playing the 2nd place Padres right here in town....that was a good enough reason to go. It would be nice to see both teams battle it out, right to the end of the season. That always makes for extra excitement!! My parents(Dad particularly) are Dodger fans. Have been since the Dodgers were in Brooklyn. For the most part, I was quitely rooting for the Dodgers.

Anyways.........back to our new 'neighbors'.:Brow: We were basically surrounded by LA Dodgers fanatics!!!:eek2: Normally, not such a bad thing.....until they started in on their many anti Padres chants!! Man were these guys loud!!!:Dou: Surprised my ears aren't still ringing.

Turned out to be a low scoring affair that went into extra innings. Needless to say, that gave even more opportunity for the Padres faithfull to come over and 'converse' with the crew from South Central & Compton!!!:Brow:

Got quite interesting....pretty humorous too. Security kept things pretty civil. These guys even started chanting the names of the employees working in that area. The workers got a pretty good kick out of it.

To add to the mix.......quite a bit of this> :beer :beer :beer was consumed by the Dodger fanatics!!!:Brow: :Dou: Gotta admit.....it was anything but boring.

In the end, the Dodger boys got the last laugh......

Top of the 11th inning, they take out the pitcher and put in Robin Ventura. I no sooner got the words out of my mouth, that he was quite infamous for coming thru with a homer as a pinch hitter....then <CRACK> here comes a long fly ball headed in our general direction. Giles and Peyton both raced towards the warning track, then the wall......but, they ran out of room. HR for the Dodgers. These guys went NUTS!!!

    Fun day at the Park......not cheap though.:Dou: $40 for tickets....$20 to park....$20-$25 for eats & drinks. What a racket.

Then there is the matter of not putting any sunblock on.:Dou: What a dummy.:pp
