This probably should have been two threads, but it's my life.
Last weekend I attended my 2nd Turkey Rod Run in Daytona Beach. After spending a week and a half in Virginia visiting family, and freezing my azz off, the 70 degree temperatures felt great! My son and I stay at a friend's house who lives just outside of Daytona. He was soooo nice in removing the garden hose in front of his garage that I tripped over last year and blew my shoulder out. Thanks Brandon!!! The 2 liquor drinks had nothing to do with my fall. A couple hours after getting there Brandon's friends show up. They all broke out liquor and kept telling me, "Come on John, just take a swig." No way Jose!!!!! I stayed strong and stuck with my crappy beer. We cooked a killer sea food boil and pigged out.
Saturday morning we were up bright and early and heading to Daytona. My son bought a car spot in the infield. Of course we didn't park where we were supposed to park. A guy stops us and says, "You have to belong to a car club to be in here. Alex points to the "Gus" decal on the windshield and tells the guy, "Were with the Buick club." We're in!!! We park the car. The trunk is filled with coolers of beer and chairs. All our friends meet up with us. We had a total of 11 people. It's impossible to keep 11 people together! So we all ended up in groups throughout the day. The trunk was kept unlocked for refills. My youngest son and I met some Buick people who said they would come to the Buick Gathering I host in February or March. We exchanged phone numbers and talked forever.
We had a GREAT time!!! So many nice cars. So many hot chicks!!! We got tired of rating girls that we switched to finding beaches. We laughed our butts off. You can spot a "beach" a mile away! I bought stupid stuff. Wrenches for $3 that I'm missing. My son's bought other weird stuff. You name it, they have it. At the end of the day we saw some people where you were NOT allowed to be. Of course we went there! The top of the embankment to turn 1. Whoa!!! That sucker was steep. Somebody said it was 31*. I don't know for sure, but it was steep. Easy to climb up, but hard to climb down without falling on your face! Pictures will be included.
After that we went across the street to the back of a mall. Giant car show there! Had a good time. Around 9:30 Brandon said, "Let's go back to my house and drink some beer in the garage." Ya right, we didn't come here to sit in your garage. So Alex and I went to Hooters and got some food. Alex asked our waitress if she would get some "friends" so we could get their picture in front of his car. "Sure" was the answer. Oh heck ya!!! I got some great pictures with me and the "girls." I sent them to my wife. Don't ever do that!!! When I got home the next day I got a very COLD hug. Pictures included. Not of my wife!!! The Hooter's girls and me!!!
After we left Hooter's we went by the hotels on the beach. There were "hotel people" lining the streets and throwing ice buckets of water on A1A so even the slowest of cars could do a burnout. We saw people doing burnouts and instantly getting busted by the cops. Bummer! One guy in a hopped up Chevy truck did such a GREAT burnout that he smokes up the ENTIRE intersection!!!!!! A cop came hauling butt up to the intersection and stopped. It would have been crazy to proceed any further!!! Were there pedestrians in the road? Was the truck still there? That guy got away! AWESOME!!!!!! Then the Sarg. showed up. She was hot! Not mad hot, but good looking hot! She was a "beach" though. She got out of her car, looked at the people lined up along A1A, and said, "NO MORE BURNOUTS!!!" Everyone was yelling Cat calls and she was smiling. We pleaded... "Come on Sarg., one more burnout." She said, "NO!" After awhile we left there. We got back to Brandon's around 2 AM. It was a good day and night!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm guessing I can't upload all the pictures at once. So I'll have to write again.
IMG_7268.JPG Our parking spot. Food court was right in front of us. Awesome!
    IMG_7269.JPG Crazy Ratrods were abundant
IMG_7271.JPG There were actually a good amount of Buicks. What??? This Bud's for you Lucas! IMG_7273.JPG My son, Scott, and I by a cool Buick dude's car.
IMG_7280.JPG My son, Alex, and I up on the 31* embankment. Can't believe the crazy NASCAR guys do over 200 MPH up in that turn!!!
IMG_7284.JPG My favorite car of the day! A 1 repaint, awesome original 69 Skylark that was loaded with ALL working options!
IMG_7296.JPG Hooter girls and me. I repeat.... Don't send a picture of yourself doing this to your wife!!! She'll be a beach!!!
IMG_7297.JPG "Sarg." She was hot, but she was a "beach."

"CARS and COFFEE, PALM BEACH this morning...
My oldest son, Alex and his family, went to the Monster Truck Jams in Okeechobee last night. We behaved ourselves and didn't drink a bunch of beer. Got up early this morning and went to Cars and Coffee, Palm Beach. It's not in "Palm Beach!" They just call it that. Palm Beach would not let this happen in Palm Beach. It's really at the mall in West Palm Beach. Anyway, the Buick turbo cars got to be the feature cars up on the sidewalk today. There were easily 2,000 cars. We all like just the old cars. There are all kinds of exotic cars. And............. crappy, all sound alike Mustangs. Anyhow, we had a great time! Got there early and got a grass island curb spot next to some shade trees. Yes, in December we like shade! Parked around me were some old Ford trucks, an old Chevy truck, a Corvair, and a Canadian Chevelle SS. Very cool people.
I've got some GN pictures up on the sidewalk, and, and, and..... Yes I did. A hot looking girl was walking with her boyfriend. She stops in front of a GTO and her boyfriend / husband takes a picture of her posing in front of the car. As they walk by I ask him, "Hey, I know she's your girlfriend, but can I take a picture of her in front of my car?" He says in broken English, yes, this is South Florida, sure. Oh ya baby!!! I took 3 pictures of her and he says, "Babe, let him in the picture too." He takes my phone and took our picture! I'm in Heaven!!! No, I will not text this picture to my wife!!!
I sent the picture to my brother. He said, "You'd better be careful." "She'll keep you busy and he'll steal your car!" I told my brother, "That's an awesome trade!!!" "I wonder if she'll mind sleeping in the garage?"For you "up north people", sorry.... it's sunny, 76 degrees, and GREAT!!!
IMG_7315.JPG The back end of my son's car, and a bunch of other GN's
    IMG_7317.JPG More GN's
    IMG_7322.JPG A nice GTO. I like them but I like 442's better
IMG_7323.JPG I like big 'ole Mercurys
    IMG_7328.JPG A couple of "boats."
IMG_7335.JPG My favorite picture, today! Don't send these kind of pictures to your wife's phone!!!!!! Ask me how I know.

Sounds like an awesome weekend mate.
Can't think why you got the cold shoulder you kept your hands in clear view hahaha.
It reminded me of a trip with friends to Surfers Paradise a couple of years ago, we went to Hooters for dinner one night and the wife asked the waitress for a picture, my mate's wives/girlfriends shot them looks to say don't dare think about it - they looked gutted as I got a photo taken.
Got my pic taken with the Surfers meter maids too - there 'uniform ' is wee gold bikini received_1422901837794271.png

I'll send you a picture of 2 "Larks", but they're not 65s. Sorry...
Merry Christmas to you and yours!!!!!

Hey Efogs400, my son got a picture of your car, but I never saw it. Sorry I did not get to meet up with you. I will definitely be going next year again. Maybe we can meet up next year. I was surprised at how many Buick's I actually saw there.
