To tube or not to tube?

I just bought a pair of almost new Hoosier Quick Time Pro 26 x 9.5. The seller said he ran them without tubes, although the are officially a "tube type" tire. These are going on a 13 sec 70 GS that sees track time once a month. Am I safe without tubes, or do I need to shell out another $90?

No reason for tubes, take some dishwash soap and wipe on the inside of the sidewalls to keep them from leaking.
I get my tire guy to put some black looking goop on the rim for a little extra grip after I wire brush the edge of the rim where the tire mounts.

Good luck, I run the 26x9.5-14 QTP on mine at 17lbs, they seem like they don't need a long burnout to hook good.......
