Hi everyone,I'm building a 67 riv and I want to put torque thrust d's on it. Iwant to use16x10 in rear and 16x8 in front.I want to know if anyone can help me figure out what tire sizes I can use, bigger is better. Thanks,Tim Goheen:spank:
Tim, What size tires were on the car stock?? If you can tell me that I can look up the tire diameter and see what 16" tire will be comparable. You want to stay within 1/2" so your speedo and rear gears stay the same. Don't know what offset you need to run with big wheels, on GS's it's about 5" Larry
LARRY IT HAD 225AND235 75 15S ON IT IM NOT TOO CONCERND WITH THE SPEEDO GEARING YET JUST WANT BIG MEATS ON IT. THANKS TIM GOHEEN
Tim, A 225/75-15 is 28.31" tall, the 235 is 28.86" tall. The biggest 16" tire I can find in my B.F. Goodrich catalog is a 295/50-16 Radial T/A. It's 27.6" tall, has a tread width of 9.5", a section width of 12.2" on a 9.5" wide rim. Section width varies .2" for every .5" change in rim width, so on a 10" wide rim that tire would be 12.4" section width. On the 8" wheel, section width should be 11.6". Get out the ruler and start measuring those wheel wells:grin: Good Luck. Larry
