So I am one of those that keeps my tires at or above max PSI.

But anyways I looked at the door pannel on my wagon and it said it should have 26 front 32 rear. Man that sounds kinda low but you know what, the old girl rode real nice that way. The ride was much better except for the tire squeel around turns.

I wonder how GM cam up with 26 front 32 rear?? I assume its gas mileage is based on that kind of tire pressure. But even with the better ride it just seam kinda low for such a big car.

    tire pressure

they may have used the same logic that ford used on their late model explorers - low air pressure , better ride , more prone to rollover !
back 60's - early 70's , the tires were either polyester or fibreglass belted and they used lower pressures for a softer ride .
more air in the rear on a stationwagon because they figured that people would carry extra weight in the rear .
