I would like to get some 17" wheels and tires for my 65 Skylark. I would like to put 275/40's all the way around on 9-9.5" wide wheels. Is there enough room for this? Or am I dreaming?
    Thanks.

my guess is that that is too much wheel width .

you could make the rears work on a 70-72 for sure, nut i'm not sure how much space you have in the earlier cars.

the fronts woulds most deinately rub either suspension or fender. usually 245 or so is the biggest people go up there.

You dont get 275 in there
245 in the rear. 255 if you are really carefull with backspacing
Front I have done 225 but I think you can go with a 235 without problems

again, 65 is going to be much different than 68. would probably be similar to 67's, though...where's george at? (has the 67 w/ fontanas)

Thanks for the info guys. Maybe I'll have to work on a minitub setup in the rear to get the 275's in. If not, I think i'll try for 255's all around.
