What's the widest tire/wheel anybody has seen on the 71-76 big cars? I'd like to go with a 15x10 on the rear of the Electra but don't know if it'll fit between the skirts and the frame rails. If anyone has run something bigger than 15x8 please let me know how it worked out and what kind of backspacing you recommend.
I had 76 buick electra limited sedan that 15x8 with 235/70/r15...15x8 is the widest you can go with that tire size at 0mm offset. I only had about 1/4 cleareance between tire wall and fender side well at 38psi air pressure. You got plenty of space between top of tire and upper fender well...you're just a little shy on the side clearance. If you do it, you need to find something with an offset to bring it further into the wheel well area.
