Hello, im working on timing my car other non buick car tomorrow. My 68 impala stationwagon 327. It calls for 8 btdc (before top dead center) my timing cover has a chrome aftermarket tab that has some numbers than 0 than more numbers. Which side of the 0 is before top dead center? Let say im looking at the engine from the front of the car. Is it the direction the engine is turning? Is their a good photo somewhere that shows this? My overhaul manual doesnt show a clear picture of this. Thanks for the input! Drew.
btdc should be on the left side of the "0" if you are standing in front of the car looking down at it. Mike
