The timing cover on a 455 has two outlets for heater hose. One (the small one) is for the bypass, and the other (Larger one) closser to the passanger side is for the heater. I want ot bypass the heater, and how do I block off the line to the heater??? If I run it to the nipple on the intake I completly bypass the T-stat. And Im not sure how to block off the water pump side.

    Mike,
I usually see them blocked off with rubber caps and clamps. I think they sell them in the "HELP" line in auto parts stores.

I carefully drill and tap it for a 3/8" pipe plug, use teflon pipe sealant and don't overtighten.

    Hey Mike,

If you are planning to bypass the heater core, simply run a hose from the left side of the cover to a brass inlet to the intake. Then run your right side outlet to the inlet on the thermostat housing.
Just recirculating your water flow. And it is easily reversible!

Thats what I have done, I did not know if it would bypass the thermostat. Thanks for the information.
