I decided to add a dedicated timing chain oiler to hopefully reduce chain wear. The hole in the end of the tube is about 0.028".

Very cool! Does that feed line go from the outside of the timing cover back inside?

No, it is threaded into the pressure side of the pump. Look carefully at the picture. That is the back side of the timing cover. Scott laid the timing gears and chain, and the distributor inside the cover to show where the oil strikes the chain, and distributor gear. The oil pump passage in the timing cover is to the right (passenger side) of the photo.

It taps into this passage for supply.

I have one of these (in the TA cover) and the tiny hole drilled in the right side threaded gallery plug.

Since I have the TA cover/pump and all the oil mods, I have a lot of volume and good pressure read from the rear of the gallery, no less than 8 PSI at hottest idle temp (hours heat soaked) and near 40-60 PSI off idle/cruising and near 75 PSI at WOT/5500 RPM.

Sorry, should have mentioned the layout of what was in the picture. Been looking at the trees too much and not describing the forest

No I appreciate you posting! Do folks recommend this kind of thing especially for high rpm builds or would this be a good idea on any Buick (or any chain driven engine for that matter?)

That will certainly lengthen the life of the timing chain. I use a simple .032 hole drilled into the passenger side front galley plug to do the same thing.

The TA blocks come with a hole drilled into one of those plugs.. sure would have been nice to be informed of that, and it would have stopped me from putting it in the backside of the engine.. a couple times... if your not looking for it, it can slip by you..
