I have recently made an emotional and significant decision to place on the market a Buick near and dear to my heart and family history.

I first obtained this vehicle when I was about 16 or so (approximately back in 1985) from my Grandfather. It was the actual vehicle my mom and dad dated in at one point.

I worked hard as a teenager saving my money to put into the Buick; had interior completed in grey velour and the paint—a GM garnet red medium metallic. Lots of chrome work. I never had the opportunity to drive the vehicle once these initial things were completed due life circumstances and educational endeavors. My parents regained ownership of the vehicle as I continued on in my work career (I now serve full time as a Chaplain for the State of SC working with all law enforcement departments and also serve as a Military Chaplain in the National Guard-in service now for 29 years.)

I recently helped my mother move out of her house—been there since 1969 or so. I came back into contact with the Buick and am once again the owner-a sweet experience!

It’s a 1956 Buick Century 4 door hardtop. 322 V, 4 barrel Rochester Carburetor, PW steering, PW brakes. The car is extremely solid and a rod shop here in SC was very impressed with the Car’s condition.

Aside from the updated interior and a newer paint color, the Buick is 100 % original. I can share details at a later time if possible. Not currently running due to carb sitting up for a number of years but the last time it ran the engine was solid with NO issues, well maintained. I have plenty of pictures. After being painted and much chrome work, it was left out in the weather for a while and damaged some of the paint. My original goal was to update everything—newer engine, updated suspension, seatbelts, brake system updated and so on. But body wise keep all original. Glen Dodd (previous Owner) of the very well known Carolina rod shop in SC told me many years ago his idea was to restore a vehicle with todays usage in mind; he wanted to be able to drive it daily, anywhere, any length and enjoy the vehicle, not just simply carry to car shows; I wanted to follow his model.

Nevertheless, I have come to the decision that I simply cannot afford to do to the Buick all I had dreamed to do; its just not an option……..I must let it go for someone else to enjoy.

I’m seeking help on how to go about placing the Buick on the market. Where, value, and so on. The rod shop was taken back at the current condition of the vehicle, inside, outside and underneath-frame and so forth in a positive way. Obviously it still needs a lot of work pending someone’s goals which may be different from mine. Though difficult, I feel I’m at a point where I will not have any regrets, nor have any bitterness for not being able to keep this dream; sometimes we have to let material pursuits go and that’s ok, there is a reason for everything-even if we do not know it.

Does anyone have any wisdom or insight on how to go about this endeavor?
Thank you very much for your time and any insight or recommendations anyone may have.
I have a significant number o pictures upon request.

You could start by posting all those photos in this thread, it's hard to put a price on something without seeing it.
And maybe someone here on the board sees the car and falls in love with it. [IMG]

You could use websites like Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace or eBay to advertise the car.
