Tilt steering column

    Hi guys, Have a 70 GS that I'm converting to tilt. Need to know if the intermediate shaft,goes between column & steering box,is the same for tilt & non tilt. Thanks up front. JOE:cool: :) :) :)

    hi joe i know if you look in yo they show the flange that bolt's on for a 455 and a tilt column i believe the rest is the same if you have a yo catalog it has an exploded view of both types of columns.

    Joe, I tryed to look it up in my GM parts catalog but there is no listing for that shaft even though they show it in the ipc exploded views. Must have been gone by then.

    Anyway, they show the flange for 455 cars and they do not mention any difference between tilt or non-tilt, other attaching parts are the same as well. I would say they are the same, only one real way to find out i guess!!

    knowing GM, I would bet they are the same, they sure look the same in the diagrams.
