i have a 67 lesabre 4dr that has real sloppy steering.

I want to tighten it up some how, maybe change the steering box? What can i do.

When i got the car, about 4 yrs ago, i had all the tie rods, control arms and linkage re-bushed with the OEM stuff, if that makes any difference.

    Thanks
    Rick

These guys can convert your original steering box to the modern fast-ratio internals. http://www.powersteering.com
I have the same problem with my 67 Olds 88 and will be swapping in a fast-ratio box this summer. The ratio on these old GM big cars was just terribly slow. Combined with a huge steering wheel, it makes for really sloppy handling.

You can go multiple routes. I am in the process of putting in quick ratio steering box from a late 80's Monte Carlo SS. Tom Lee sells a conversion kit for the hoses and a new rag joint to make it work on the older steering shafts.

The inexpensive DIY way to go, you can also go with a Grand Cherokee box.

If you want to buy new with everything all ready to go, look up AGR boxes or LEE boxes.
