I think the "Thompson is closing" posts have been going on for a few years. But it is on Fakebook, so it must be true.
I’m glad I don’t watch the news anymore, I don’t miss it at all, bunch of BS from “news teams” They tell yah what they think you should know
You know. that was sold a few year ago Kuhnle raceway is the new name they are a trucking co. That message must be old check the date www.kuhnlemotorsports.com
The last I seen was they were only doing two events this year, both being semi truck drags. It was up for sale or a one year lease. I also heard Norwalk did away with there T&T and and weekly race program big money events only.Pissed off alot racers. Not sure if either are true. Chris Chris
Here's a recent video by Donut Media about closing down a race track in California: Investigating the Absurd Lawsuit Against Laguna Seca
Yes Norwalk got rid ofvthe Wednesday night events and in fact only have like 8 regular points events and none of them after mid August. Looks like they have about 13 special events.....but 2 of them or some higher paying events.....1 for box and 1 for both box
Right now, we are on a holding process. They are going to have 3 events for the semi-trucks and they also said that they have someone stepping up to run the drag strip. Before this all happened, we had the date of July 13th locked in for the 2nd annual Buick Race. I have not heard anything back if this is a go or not. We will wait patiently for an answer, but we are planning on having the race that day as of now.
I hope this turns out to be "Fake News" !! I haven't raced there in years as Norwalk is my home track, but since I now have a Gasser, I was hoping to take it to the "Gasser Nationals" at Thompson this year. Non of this sounds promising at all, nobody knows for sure ‘bout Thompson/kuhlne, and Norwalk not having but ONE TNT according to their schedule I got in the mail. Seems like we’re experiencing the beginning of the end I’m not a racer, I go for TNT and fun, but the racers, and the car hobby in general seems it’s being choked by do gooders!
Yeah for sure all started when we got booted from Norwalk. I didn't know there was no test and tune at Norwalk this year only the first weekend and no Wed. racing, all paid events. I printed the schedule didn't even notice lol 4 points events? really? that used to be a weekly thing there. So it sounds like something happened at Thompson/Kuhlne since I thought there was a fairly full schedule last year. I also thought getting only 3 runs at D42 at a test and tune was a bit much for 30 bucks, it got so late Demko went home and that was at 10 pm we got there at 5:30 they took forever to do anything Did more crying at you to move in the lanes, we know how, we don't need to be bumper to bumper in the lanes, and you had to move right up to that cone when you are next right Demko? lol.
Kuhnle Motorsports Park will be open in 2024. They have released a new partial schedule and updating it every day. They have a new track manager, and he is a racer, and this will be great for them. I am working with them right now and we will have another Buick race there this year, we are working on a date and I will post as soon as we get it finalized.
Denny is Correct. KMP will be open this season, I had just emailed him a current schedule that I saw posted online. Denny is on top of this and working diligently so that the Buick faithful can have an event locally, Thanks for your hard work Denny Moore!!
