Ok, it IS a beautiful car, but come on, it's not a 4 speed, which, if it was, would be one of 77 and in that case I could see the almost $26k price, but, come on, what's this guys reserve? :eek2: I've seen 70 GSX's go for less than this. I guess I shouldn't bitch, the 69 certainly doesn't get the recognition it deserves. :Smarty: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1868781789
I certainly would take the money and run at the current price! Seems to be a little high even though I am sure the car is nice. I thought that GS's didn't come with chrome air cleaner lids, even the Stage cars. Maybe I am wrong. Brian
Alan(69GS400s) had a 69 skylark that looks just like that one for sale not too long ago. May still be for sale. I saw the car and it is a steal!
reserve I've heard of sellers setting their reserve too high to see what they can get and then go back and contact the bidders after it closes to negotiate...:stmad: :stmad: :stmad: - Bill :af:
Chrome air cleaner lid Chrome air cleaner lids cam on all '68 GS's and Riv GS's. In '69 I think they only came on the Stage 1 package.
Bill, you don't mean the gold Skylark he was selling rather cheap do you? It was mint, he had a picture of his ex-girlfriend standing next to it. If so, it wasn't a GS no less a Stage 1 convertible. But it sure was nice just the same. :TU:
Re: Chrome air cleaner lid Hmmmm. All 68 GS's had chrome air cleaner lids? That's a new one on me. Live and learn. p I know only the stage 1's came with one in 69.
Hi Guys, My 1970 GS 455 4-speed conv. has a chrome lid on the ram-air cleaner, inside of it it's stamped in yellow with the date Oct. 12, 1969o No: . My car is an early '70 model with the pointed instrument lenses and such. I can provide pic's of the cleaner and the stamped date if anyones interested........:TU:
Good luck finding a correct chrome plated lid for your Buick. All I have found are reproduction chevy lids and they are not the same. The Buick lid may be the same as the same as the Pontiac lid. I think the chrome lid and valve covers could be ordered as a dealer installed option on non stage 1 cars (in '69). I cannot find a listing for chrome valve covers in '68. I did not know that all '68 Riv's came with a chrome air cleaner lid. Learn something new every day.
Hi Guys, Mine is no reproduction or aftermarket lid, it's a stock and in original condition (that's been in the attic of my garage for the past nine years too) GS ram-air cleaner lid that is chromed on both sides with the factory seals still intact. After pulling it down to take these pic's I notice it's in need of some TLC! ou: I polished a small area to achieve a decent shine. Oops! It's definately been awhile, it's actually stamped 10 8 69 in blue. So much for memory huh? ou: Believe it or not a good friend of mine's ex-wife's dad was the original owner of this car that he bought in Dec. '69 and he said that's the cleaner set-up the car came with when he purchased it!o No:
Thats my Skylark - still for sale...... First year for the Stage Cars, 60K original miles.....Nicely equipped with AC, PW, Cruise, Posi, and sport suspension to name a few, Prolly Never rusted or never any body panel replacements.......1/212 made Id say its a steal !!! These things have been undervalued for too long !! Say you bought a #3 '69 Stg1 convert for ....6-9K ?? you'd easily spend 15-20K to get it into this condition if it needs body panels, paint and interior......and then mechanical work I WANT IT !!!!!!!! Lets see.....i'd trade my other convert, the sporty AND the skylark for it.........
Man Alan....... you really need to stop showing that picuture........... All I can do is :jd: :jd: :jd: Every time I see it. :TU:
