65WILDKAT A PROUD FATHER OF THREE!

I Thought I saw it all but now I know the old saying is true "YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY" This what is puzzling me: When I put the key in the ignition for the first time after putting in my "NEWER" 1966 401 I noticed that the Gen light lit up well I tried to crank it and when I pulled the keys out of the ignition the generator light stayed on......I made sure that I did not pull the key out when it was in the accessary postion and that it was in the off postion!
I Then fiddle around a little and noticed that when I pushed the door button for the Interior lights on the door jamb that the light on the Generator went off?:Do No: Now I have a 1965 Buick Wildcat with a 401 and I transplanted a 1966 401 into it......I also replaced the ignition switch but every thing looks fine....so I am now so :puzzled: That I am about ready to pull out my father in laws last hairs!!
Anyone else ever have this problem? I need a :Smarty: to help me with this one!

    Don

Make sure your engine is grounded to the body. There should be 2 straps running from the rear head bolts to the body on both sides. :bglasses:

I agree. When it comes to grounding, more is never enough. Grounds do their share of damage to hair, components and egos. Ray
