WOW a lot has happened in the last year:TU: I was just reading this thread and I thought I should update it. After 5 months We are still going strong. My wife still loves Me and I haven't gone crazy and started wearing wigs and dresses and I haven't hidden any body's in the crawl space.:Brow: The fishing is fantastic and business has been good for the first summer:TU: Now for the Winter fun
Glad that things are going well. I can only imagine the mountain of maintenance work required to be an innkeeper. Having made the MA to FL run 31 times, I am used to staying in hotels/motels. Sadly, a significant portion of guests do not treat the facilities as they would if they were the owners. One thing that I have noticed is that the people who clean the rooms typically fall into a pattern as they prepare the room. This can be a good thing if the pattern is good, but it also means that if they miss something, they will miss it every time that they do the room. I recently stayed in a motel in North Carolina, and noticed that there was a bug morgue between the double-hung window and the outside screen. I checked a second window and found the same thing. Out of curiosity, I walked along the front of the Motel and found the same thing to be true in every unit. No one has opened the inside window (they did open - I checked) and hit the sill with a vacuum cleaner in months - or maybe ever. It wouldn't have taken 30 seconds per window, and despite the overall cleanliness of the place, it left a very bad impression. If something that obvious is allowed to continue; what is being missed that is not obvious?
Update! John You are 100% correctou: After reading this I walk the front and saw what You were saying:shock: 2 hours and a shop vac no more dead bugs:TU: People can be nasty dirty little creatures but I am here to give them a comfortable bed and a hot shower and of course take there moneyou: In the last 6 months I have met some rely nice people and some that should not be aloud to reproduce  Things have slowed down so I have a chance to do a little upgrading Today My new furnaces arrived and My father will be here tomorrow to start the install.
