well, that seems good if your happy with the mechanical curve in your current distributor. if not the best way is to get it done by a shop that has a distributor set up machine. 16 degrees at idle and 34 total by no later than 3000 rpms is a good set up usually. if you save up some money and get a msd distributor it has a completely adjustable advance set up with different bushings and springs. also check your stock dist. shaft for scoring. good luck.
