My headliner is a little rough. I plan to change the color or the interior and put a cage in the old girl. Thinking of removing and not replacing the headliner.
I don't want it to look like a beater and fear that will be the result. I'm a little laid up so expect more dumb
questions as I sit on the couch. lol
Do any of you run your car with no head liner?
    How does it look?
    Is it significantly louder?
    Any pictures please post.
If I remove I would paint the underside

Dave yes I have had them with no headliner..... in my opinion ugly.
Get a cage in and then at least put a cheap black headliner back in.
Hope you are back up and about soon

I've heard (pun intended) that under the headliner is the best place to put sound deadener to reduce road noise.

I kind of dig cars that get the full race car stripped interior treatment. It needs a cage to complete the look and it's gotta be fast too.

Here’s mine before the headliner. Couple ideas of what different things look like. First picture is the inside cleaned and painted with POR15. second picture has black Noico sound deadener stuck to the roof. If you look close you can see a waffle pattern. Third picture I put a layer of dynamat dynaliner foam instead of the jute material before putting the headliner back up.

Thanks that looks good. I may try to save the headliner. I want to paint the exterior white and make he interior blood red

That sounds like an awesome color combo. At one time I wanted to do a bright red interior with my silver exterior. Then I found how hard it was to get bright red as Buick never used it.
I haven't had a headliner in my car since the early 90s.

Road and wind noise in a convertible is nearly to loud to bare. Only thing I dont like about my convertible. My vote is sound deadener and a head liner.
