Like the title says, I'm thinking about selling my project car. I haven't had a lot of time to work on it and I've found another car I'm interested in. The sad thing is, it's almost done. I've already done all the hard part (getting the motor in). Anyway, I'll be posting it in the for sale section here, just thought I'd let you guys know.

1985 T-type, white, blue cloth interior, '76 455 block, '71 Stg 1 heads (so I was told), I was also told it "might have" a Stg 1 cam, new aluminum radiator with electric fans and custom shroud, needs body work and paint, possibly a new hood (previous owner shut it with a wrench hanging out), dual 2.5" exhaust w/dynomax bullet mufflers, will also include an extra set of heads, extra crank, extra rods & pistons, brand new 770cfm street avenger carb still in box, original engine is available for a little extra...

I didn't think about it before, but I really don't know how much this car would be worth. I listed $5k OBO but that seems like it might be too high... What's an average selling price for a car like this?

Does anyone have an idea? How much would you sell yours for, if you "had to"... ?

Sell my project? No way......its got to be finished first. THen I'd be able to live with the satisfaction that I made a bad a$$ car. :3gears: You've gone a long way.........are you sure you want to give it up without the satisfaction of knowing its done? :Do No:

No, I don't want to give it up without it being finished. It's just that I don't have much time to work on it any more and I'm going to be moving into an apartment soon so I won't have a garage. The feeling I got when I first started it was a good one... I wish I could keep it until it was finished, but it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to. I figured everyone else would feel this way too, that's why I said how much would you sell if for if you "had to". The other car that I mentioned I'm interested in is a 1st gen Firebird and it's completely finished except for body & paint. So I wouldn't have to have a garage if I had that...

I suppose I could always hang on to the Regal for a year or two until I get another house with a garage... that's probably what I'll end up doing if nobody is interested in buying it. I'm definitely not selling it if nobody offers what I think it's worth.

It is hard to get what any unfinished project car is worth out of it. I would try to find an inexpensive place to store it rather than sell it for 15 cents on the dollar. Then when you later finish it you will not only feel much better about yourself and the project but also normally get a much better return on your dollar. Probably even to the point of being able to recoup the storage cost. Assuming reasonable storage and that it does not take you forever to finish it.

Its very hard to say what you can get for a project car. If you part it out you will get more money, but it defeats the purpose of the project. Its definitely more satisfying to finish it if possilbe/feasible. Then again it is easy to get overwhelmed with projects too!

This car is for sale in the "cars for sale" section now. I'm quitting my job and moving, so I absolutely must sell it now. Pictures are available if anyone is interested.

Nevermind... I should read before I reply. You'd definitely have to get it shipped unless you want to drive the whole way with a trailer. I have more pics of it if you're interested...

Yeah, the economics get alot more difficult as soon as you're talking about 1500 miles of transportation one-way...... :Dou:
