thermostat

    I have put a 180 thermostat and my car is running at 194.

    whit a 160 thermostat I run at 165 max :Do No: .

    What is better ?

    is 194 is to hot ?

    If it goes no higher than 194, that is fine. 165 is Ok, but the engine will be more efficient at the higher temps, especially in the wintertime.

    I have used about three different 160* thermostats in my car and it would not even get near the rated temp on the road.With a 180* thermostat mine runs at about 195 to 200 degrees.Many thermostats do not appear to open at rated temps.I am sticking with the 190* thermostat however for the reason that Larry states-more efficiency.Rod
