My buick 455 has 13 to 1 compression and i want to try and lower the compression down enough to run pump gas. The block is decked 020 with BME flat top pistons and the heads are 69 430s with stage 1 valves and chambers unshrouded with full race port. A friend tells me that i can get these thermetic head gaskets in all different kinds of thickness up to a 1/4 inch if not more.:eek2: Has anybody heard or used these type of head gaskets or is there another way i can do this without going with new pistons. Note they say you can reuse these head gaskets over and over and they are expensive. They are not copper and you do not have to oring the block? Any info would be great.

Billy, Contact T/A Performance, they stock the Cometic gaskets in various thickness from I believe .027 thru .120
These Cometic(Company name) gaskets have been used with excellent success.
