The Washing of Daddy's Brown Car

I know, a car wash ain't much, but it looked so much better after the tubby, I figured I'd post some pics. I actually was only going to clean up the wheels and tires, as the body is in pretty bad shape, but, with help from my 2 and 3 year old kids, the wheel job quickly turned into an entire car wash job, and much more soap then necessary was used due to the perceived lack of sufficient suds by the 2 year old son. I'd actually forgotten that it cleans up this nicely. All of the work done on the car to this point has been mechanical (brakes, engine replacement, etc.) so I hadn't actually washed the car in the two plus years I've owned it. (I'll skip a couple of lines here to let some of you get back up off the floor).

In the background of the one picture, you can see my other projects; "Old Mustard", the 72 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup, which is actually quite a bit rougher than even the Riv, and the house, which the front porch is currently being remodeled on (and the roof is about to be replaced). The kids are actually behind the Riv in that picture writing on the driveway with sidewalk chalk.

While I would like to be reporting on something more exciting than a car wash, this'll just have to do for a while until things slow down a bit around here (i.e. front porch is done)

I can't believe nobody has responded to such a riveting tale.

Neat story Nick, :TU: this is the first time I've seen this thread.

I can imagine how your kids get involved, get distracted, get re-involved, get distracted once again, and so on and so on. More soap please.

Cavailer Cientra Classics, P235 75R 15s. Nice wide white wall if you're into that kind of thing. I think I'd rather have some raised white letters, but these came with the car, and I think they look OK.

Nick I like those Riv's but I have to be honest. I really like the older house with the front porch!

Yeah, I like the house, too. The front porch was originally open way back when. Some time in the 70s, the owner closed it in. Now, we are reopening it to have a nice porch to sit on, although part of it will stay enclosed (the far 1/3 in the picture) and become the computer room. I suppose the ironic part about it is that when the closing in of the porch was taking place in the 70s, there very well could have been two vehicles sitting in the driveway that are similar to the two vehicles that are sitting there now. Of course, those people wouldn't have known what to think of "that space ship lookin' wagon" that is Mommy's Red Car (99 Taurus Wagon).
