    Is that Mark Burton's car?

650hp seems kind high on a stock short block considering what others have said about rods consistently failing around 600hp

EDIT- just read the circle track thread again.. 6500 rpm was broken rods, 6000-6250 they seemed to live..

Still, 650HP is quite a hefty claim for a car that has never been to the track or on a dyno.

Sean, do you know why this guy is selling? He didn't have it very long. I like the big tires!!!

The 650 HP claim is a good estimate of the power it makes. Maybe it only makes 500 HP but the torque is massive from about 3000 RPM on up. The key with making these last under boost when using a stock engine is keeping the revs down and using small turbos to make big boost quick.

The guy who bought it has back issues and this car is straight up violent when you depress the gas over 1/4 throttle at ANY speed. Mark had issues trying to get into traffic at 30 MPH as the tires let loose as soon as the boost came in.

I always said that a set of 3.42 gears would make the car faster as that is what I am using. The 4.56 gears will run the quarter at under 6500 RPM and run 10s easy so that is why he went with them. I prefer to keep the revs lower on the top end personally but his build is well thought out and all set to go.

I do not know how long it would last without a rebuild but it has been together for about 6 years now since the re-fresh he did on it. Just be like me and have 20 spare 350s ready to drop in and build one of them up with forged rods, forged pistons, all balanced, custom cam etc and use that when you are ready to crank the boost up.

I would like to see what a stock non rebuilt shortblock 9:1 engine would do with gessler ported heads, custom intake like mine, and 10 PSI of boost
