Took out the entire top of the iron manifold, where the spreadbore pattern is. This leaves just a fairly thin divider wall, that we cut down the full length about 1/2 inch or so.

If I could post pics again I would post a pic of the worked iron manifold I have here

I ready thru most of the thread but I can't find what this mod above directly impacts. What's the advantage of the one on the right vs the left? And is that basically what Poston's "S Divider" used to try to accomplish?

No the Sdivider split banks...all this does is add plenum volume and allow both banks to draw from a common plenum....adding a 1/4 to Qin spacer helps in most cases also....it's not a huge gain and sometimes no gain...but it's more of theory in action

The column of air can also make the turn easier b4 crashing into the intake floor also

The testing the Engine Masters did (s2e9) agrees a column of air (like with a velocity stack) is better than some other options.

I assume engine masters did that on a dyno and not a hot engine compartment. Which begs the point, how hot does a dyno room get? 1st pull not so much, 10th pull pretty hot?

Your presumption is correct. Another episode said cold fuel is more important than cold air but your point stands nonetheless. In various episodes, they complain about how hot it is in there or talk about finally turning the a/c back on.

Even though countless variables are different in the real world, it stands to reason that the carburetor will be able to pull air in more easily when a column of air is directed at it instead of swirling around. Instead of a dyno, I'd like to see tests showing the airs behavior with the different filters and bases.

You'd be surprised, at least I was. When you walk into the room after a pull you realize just how inefficient an ICE is at converting gasoline to power. It's much more efficient at converting gas to heat

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

Thats a completely different GS. John build the first GS to look just like the one he had as a young man. John then sold that fully restored GS after showing it at the GS nationals. Despite many aftermarket items the car did get a Silver, He later was able to buy the original 1970 Stage1 he and his father ordered together in 1969. They ordered the Stage1 in his high school colors. He has restored it over the last few years and just got finished putting it back together to enjoy. It's a really cool thing that he got that car back from the people his father sold the car to many years ago. I have a strong feeling this GS will not be sold ever again.
