I thought it looked like Shayne's car.... that's why I asked. Raced with Shayne for many years at the Nats and a few other tracks. He disappeared from the Buick scene for a long time now.... got into bicycling or something like that! LOL Hopefully when his biking days are over we'll see him at the track once again!
Good to see you're getting your car out there too! Our Buick gang needs fresh blood! I can't wait to get my new car on the track as well, since I sold my GSX a few years back...………...
Best of luck getting the engine freshened up and best of luck with the car! Hope to see you at the Nat's in 2021!!

Yeah, Shayne got into bicycling and I believe does competitive shooting as well now. Still has the car though. I've been watching your thread on the Alpha Lark I'm looking forward to seeing it out. Our goal is to get both cars down to the Nats' in 2021. Hopefully soon tracks around here will open up again and we can get the engine back, in the car, get it running and broke in and make some passes so we know what it's going to do before taking it to the Nats'. Otherwise there may only be a handful of passes on it at the beginning of next year before we take it down there. Best of luck on your car as well looking forward to seeing more updates on it!

Just placed an order with TA for the 2-1/8" STG2 Headers, head stud kit, their timing cover assembly, 5/8" oil pickup, rear seal, and coated cam bearings. Holding off on buying the valvetrain until we hear more from the builder.

Called TA back and talked to them about running the 308s cam, STG2 heads and 11:1 with a blend of 93 and 110 and they said we would be on the edge with just 93 but mixing some 110 should be alright and we will add more 110 when racing. So the engine has now snowballed to a 11:1 464 with 308s cam and forged rods, pistons and block girdle.

I get 7.92:1 Dynamic Compression Ratio. Not bad, 8.4 is the theoretical point for Race Gas.

Thank you for doing that math. I tried doing it myself but hadn't done it before and wasn't sure if I was doing it right. I got around that number but being it was my first time calculating it I wasn't 100% confident in my own math.

I used numbers to get me to 11:1 static. Might not be exactly what you have, but 11:1 is 11:1 no matter how you get there.

Read the article, at the end, you can download that calculator and install it on your computer. Fun to use. See how static compression and cam timing produce different results.

You're Welcome. Download the bigger file. It's a zip file so you have to unzip it with a program like WinRAR. Once you do, run the setup.exe

Good! Some guys have a problem with that. If you have any problem using it, look at the FAQ,
