I saw this in an online auto industry publication to which I subscribe: "5-CENT GASOLINE: While Americans are shelling out record prices for fuel, Iraqis pay only about 5 cents a gallon for gasoline - a benefit of hundreds of millions of dollars subsidies bankrolled by American taxpayers." Dan
5 cents a gallon, sure. But how many Iraqi's have a car? Or one that actually runs? Its like being stranded on a desert island with a million dollars. What good is it? Jason
Being there personally last year, there were tons of junk cars and all of them ran. Some ran out of gas, but then they just push it to the fuel point. I think being a shadetree mechanic is a must in their culture. I saw some quite impressive gerry-rigged stuff! Every car we searched had a tool box in it. Now, with the open borders and lack of goverment, there is millions of cars flooding the economy. We did see a lot of stolen European cars too.
I just saw something on tv the other day, apparently exporting stolen cars from the u.s. alone is a 9 billion dollar a year industry. Keep those doors locked. p
