Well I saw a post on this site and it had a referance to the Parts Place. I checked it out and they have just about my whole 69 GS on there site.

What caught my eye was the Bumpers $279 front or rear! Yes a $150 core charge. Has anyone dealt with this out fit, for bumpers?

    Boy have I!

In my opinion you get what you pay for. You asked, here you go!

I bought a rear bumper for my 70GS from them (Last December) and one of the light bars would not line up properly on one side. I sent them pics to prove it.

They agreed and said they would have it picked up (Dec. 07). They sent a UPS "damaged call tag". The one and only time that the UPS driver showed up, he refused to take it because it was defective and not damaged.

I called them back and they said they would send out another call tag (they were pretty irriated with the circumstances). I waited. UPS never came back.

After calling them again and explaining everything again, the next day I received a message on our machine from a rude young lady that stated I would have to return the bumper at my expense because I had refused to let UPS pick it up two different times. I called one more time. Spoke with the rude young lady, explained everything again and guess what happened? Nothing.

Mind you, this hugh box with a bumper in it that had been taking up space in my garage. I REALLY wanted it to go away. Why would I refuse to have UPS pick it up?

At that point I tried to get my bank involved because a bought it with Visa and that was even more furstration.

To make a long story just a little longer, I had to call and ask for the owners of The Parts Place last week to get their attention.

After sending pictures of the bumper AGAIN, I was asked to ship the bumper back at MY EXPENSE and they assured me that they would refund the amount of the bumper and my shipping costs.

I've since bought two bumpers (front and rear) out of California and paid much more, but with no issues.

The chrome quality on the Parts Place bumper was good. It was nice for the money. If it had been set up properly - what a deal. But it wasn't set up right - the brackets to mount the lights were way off on one side.

I think the real issue is how a company handles a situation. I've had simular issues with two other items (from other companies) I've purchased lately and both were taken care of right away.

They are still working on it and this all started December 4th.

I can let you know how this all plays out if you'd like.

    Sorry, but you asked!

I didn't have such good luck with their bumpers but maybe I bought the only bad one they ever sold.
It's always a good idea to check the buyer/seller feedback section when you're interested in a particular vendor.

    The Deal is done!

I spoke with the Parts Place today. They refunded the original shipping to me but will not pay the shipping back to them.

Funny, they sent out a UPS Damaged Call Tag the first time.....

I was told after the fact, that thier warranty is for replacement only.

They said there was supposed to be a form in the box stating that but there wasn't. Guess it was too late by then anyway.

My part was DEFECTIVE and it ended up costing me $119.00.

Here's my advice, If you buy a bumper, I'd make sure of the companies warranty and defective merchandise policies prior to buying it.

Can't help but to feel slighted.....

I got my bumpers from the Parts Place and I was pleased with them for the money spend.

didn't mention this before because it's not easy to spot but in addition to the bad chrome job, my parts place bumper is also twisted. No big deal on my car but some people might be more picky. I'd much rather have a straight bumper but I wasn't going to complain over that problem alone. They also weld the date onto the back which might turn some people off.
