Yesterday went to town and drove by the Buick dealer twice. It came to me I am not seeing any New Regals on the road I saw one in a shopping center parking lot last summer and told the lady she had a really nice looking NEW BUICK. She told me it wasn't that new she had it 3 months.

Still compaired to most all the cars on the market today 99% 4 doors I like the look of the Regals and don't under stand why I see so few and so many of the laCrosses?

There is no such thing as a Regal GS TourX at least in the USofA.
You can get a Regal GS or a TourX.
To bad the wagon did not get the GS treatments or the V6.
Not many dealers have many of any variant in stock especially loaded models.
I do like the Regal GS especially the front seats but at its price point it is not even a consideration given the competition.

I’ve got a 2019 TourX loaded with everything except the glass roof. What I found during my research is that the European and Australian versions of this car sound way more fun to drive than the one we have in the US. That didn’t matter to me, as I wanted just about everything this car offered. I sometimes wonder what drove the decision to package it for the US like they did; was it government regulations or marketing/bean counters that did it. My negotiations lasted a total of 5 minutes. I got what I wanted for my trade, and the price for the TourX was more than reasonable. GM does suck when it comes to packaging cars; that is undeniable. This is a German built car with a Japanese driveline, an engine reminiscent of a Saab, and packaged for a worldwide audience. GM may have spent a total of $0.15 on marketing it, and it shows. Too bad, it’s an awesome vehicle. If they would have sold it with a 6-cylinder turbo and a 6-speed, I’d have two right now, and I’m the only driver in my household.

While the Outback is certainly a major competitor to the TourX, the TourX was developed to appeal to the the buyers of the Volvo & Audi and even the Jaguar XF wagons. Stylistically it is in the playing field with those cars, not the Outback. I have owned several Outbacks, my daughter has a new Subie Crosstrek , my parents have one and my X has a new Forester, I love Subies but they are not a car for everyone, you either love them or not. The Outback has grown much taller over the years to becoming near SUV especially compared to the Wagons from Buick, Audi and Volvo. The TourX is being cross shopped with the Volvo & Audi and have favorable reviews relative to them. GM was aiming at a higher heeled buyer than the typical Outback buyer. Cloth seats? cringe. The TourX will be my next DD

Does any manufacturer offer heated cloth seats? I’ve seen ‘requires leather seating surfaces’ so many times I presumed there was some risk (fire hazard?) the precluded it.

Yes, I just drove a Traverse with them. Also pickups have come with them, lots of VWs and Subarus to name a few. No reason not to have heated cloth (not like the warmers get THAT hot unless something is wrong and they short out), but the main reason you don't see them that often is most cars with cloth interior are stripped down or more basic, so have fewer options generally. Someone that buys a car or truck with leather will more likely spring for the heated seats, especially since leather is really cold in the winter.

OH GAWD, Slap my wrist I didn't put a comma in between GS and TouringX in the title.

I wanted my wife to get a Subura but when we priced it used there was no way.

She had a leased 2014 Dodge Journey she really liked and only put 8,000 on it in 2 years. Decided to just buy it when the lease was up. Wrong.

Shopped the internet and found her a 2016 Journey AWD at a Lincon dealer they took on trade. It had been on the lot 89 days so was due to head to the auction the next day.

We bought it for far less than the leaseing company wanted for her base Journey.

I have always liked the looks of the Journey plus they are a nice size and some of the packages are really nice, but they have a dismal reliability rating. Sounds like your wife doesn't put many miles on them so should be OK. Subaru's really do well in the used car market, they are sought after and their resale is excellent

Subaru seems to have taken the path that Volvo just abandoned. Sell sturdy, safe, seemingly less complicated cars that have good options but aren’t overloaded with tech or luxury. They’re the ‘sensible shoes’ of the car market. I know a few owners who like to get value and keep a car past the warranty and don’t trust Volvo any more (or anyone’s hybrid/multiair/boosted/etc plans to get mpg and power from two liters or less).

This goes back far enough to probably be irrelevant, but the reason that the bride and I bought our '72 Olds Cutlass new was that GM would allow us to purchase the individual options that we wanted. Both Ford and Mopar insisted that we buy "packages". The Olds was a 350 4bbl, heavy duty cooling, heavy duty alternator, heavy duty wheels and a 2.73 axle. I could have bought the trailer towing package, but then I wouldn't have been able to get the 2.73 axle with it.

Saw A Regal GS AWD yesterday and you really needed AWD yesterday except on the free way, well maybe the entrance and exit ramps to, as they were a mess.

Our family has two of them and love them. Kicked ass Monday in 10 inches of snow. Top notch AWD system, good power, comfortable, roomy and looks great. My front drive Caravan could not get our of driveway (steep driveway.)
