I just got back from the dentist for a filling...and the anesthetic is starting to fade. At least I can almost feel my tongue again This sucks!!!
Feel for you man!! I have a cracked filling that I have had for a couple of months now. I am going to have to go soon, but I know he will want to crown it! Then he will say, "It's too close to the root, so a root canal is needed". Before it's over, about 1400 bucks and a sore mouth.
I can relate...I am on my third visit for an implant now. I am in tomorrow to get the stitches out then the second week of September I will have a new tooth. I didn't realize that when they thread that little post into your jawbone that they actually use a little ratchet to tighten it down!
My father is currently in the same process. Looks like he can't get them in the rear due to a sinus cavity. That is some expensive crap!!ou:
I had gas with my wisdom teeth extraction. THAT was a fun one! Although I had no real pain or swelling. I consider my self lucky in that respect. I just wanna drink something without drooling all over the place!!!!
Adam, asprin works best to wear the novacaine off. I had a wisdom tooth pulled one day, years ago, cause there was a cancelation on the next appointment, and went home drank a bunch of beer and changed the direction signal switch in the '68 GS 350, which meant pulling the steering wheel without a puller, and just a hammer, I was fine the next day and went to work! I have two teeth that need caps, old filings and teeth cracked, one of these days I will make the appointment. My dentist that retired last job was a tooth that had an old filling and he was getting ready to do the clean up for the cap and the tooth broke and he said "oh S**T"! Guess what, that one came off last year, and I knew exactly when it happened, and I wish I had saw the helpers' face when I said it was fall of '96 and she said yeah, September to be exact. Funny how you remember such things. Hope you feel better, Adam. Etc.
That stinks. But hopefully it'll go away, maybe occupy yourself with a video game to take your mind off it? Hope you feel better Adam. :TU: Your a great guy. Look on the bright side, they cant take them out ever again.
How about another 25 ounce beer followed with a shot or two of Wild Turkey! That will dull that pain:grin:
Re: Re: The medication is wearing off... ugh! Maybe next year.... I don't have to try to impress her AGAIN:laugh::beer
6-800mg of ibuprofen will set you up. Aspirin can be iterating. I found a new pain worse then a sore tooth. A piece of something flew into my eye. It went up under the lid and would not come out. I still think its in there in the corner or my eye. But at least it stationary and not moving around with eye movements anymore. man that sucked as it hard to hold just one eye still. My eye is still very sore from trying to get it out..
Sorry to hear about your pain, Adam. Oh, and BTW, at the ripe old age of 42 I have NEVER had a cavity, and I still have my wisdom teeth. I just LOVE to go to the dentist. "You're all set Mr Lisk, no cavities once again". :moonu: :moonu:
When I sheared off the front of my tooth (bottom row, I must have bit down pretty hard because I didn't hit my chin on the wipeout), the dentist was jabbing all around my mouth with the needle full of something (novocaine maybe?). I for one, hate needles and just thinking of how he jabbed me all over with the needle over and over again still gives me the willies. I couldn't feel the lower half of my face for a few hours after that one.
I'm not sure it's politically correct to use "tongue" and "sucks" so close to each other like that......freudian slip?!
Wait till you have to have a skin graft off of the roof of your mouth to repair the lower receeding gum, now that is a party.
