I really would have prefered a better challenge.....but anyway here goes. We live out in the sticks. Long roads with broken lines that can go for miles inbetween stops. Well I had to go to the hardware store this morning for a tube of caulking, and thought I'd take the Riv. :Brow: So anyhow, I'm cruising along at 65.....speed limit is 55......and this joker behind me in the Grand Am is weaving in and out riding my :moonu: and generally just being a hemoriod with what he thinks is a race car. So then he goes blowing past me like he's really got something, with the ''pontiac'' logo draped across his windshield. In the past I've had the pleasure to creme 1 or 2 of these things, and I had always wondered how slow they might get over 60 MPH. :idea2: So I speed up to HIS butt, and he just keeps going faster and we get up to about 80. Now I'm thinking to myself, this sewing machine must just about be out of steam. And passing gear for me went away about 15 or 20 miles per hour ago, so I knew this was going to be fun. :Brow: The sound of my twin Carters is still playing in my head......as I blew past this GTO wannabe doing 95 and still climbing. I didn't back off until I got her up to about 105. It brought a smile to my face knowing he had that little thing plastered to the boards and just couldn't go any faster! :laugh: No chance for the loser fly by.......I had to turn at the next road to get home and he was about 1/4 mile behind me still trying to catch up. Life is good. I guess I learned that youngin' a thing or two about what this old iron can do! p
I've had this happen to me also with a Grand Am. Was it the "GT" model? If not, that's why you were lucky, yeah right. It's a real popular car with the kids these days because they're plentiful and cheap.
I see them but not as often as a Hondurrr, I don't get it why do people think there fast in a 4 banger Honda, I just let the supercharger do the talkin for me
see, people just dont expect the old iron girls to be able to move. I nailed the Electra off a set of lights from a 60 zone, which lead to an 80 zone (relax, its km/h not mph! ) so naturally I held it flat to the boards. It was a beautifully smooth section of road, dual lanes, and I had a Holden Commodore V6 beside me (buick 3800 motor) trying to keep up, which it nearly did p On the 1-2 change at 60mph ol' Bel decided she wanted to chirp them. So she did. It scared me! Its only done it once before. The guy pulled up next to me a fair way down the road at the next lights, and his passanger shouted "was that you that chirped??" Oh yeah was my reply. "Sh^t, it went faster than we both expected! " Left me thinking wait till I get straight LPG, dual throttle bodies, extractors, and a dual 2.5 inch exhaust. Then Ill show you fast! Good on you for a nice kill, and enlightning soomeone on the power of the Riv! Have some money :dollar: :dollar:
