1970 right? I had always been positive that the Buick 455 was brand new to 1970. However, a 455 motor that I may be getting is supposedly out of a 69 Riv. and is definately a 455. Then I began noticing in autotraders 1969 Rivs and Electras saying 455 CID. So what was the first year for the Buick 455? :Do No:

Yeah. 1970. 1970 cars were in the dealerships in the fall of 1969, but they were 70's...

I have one of the last 50 `69 Riviera's and it was definately a 430 numbers matching, so no chance of them using the 455 early in the Riv's. Engine was probably replaced, very popular.

Thanks, I was pretty sure it was 1970, but am told the motor was in a 69 riv and had no concrete evidence of no 455 in 69. My dad and uncle however, had autotraders with lots of 69s with 455s so it made me start to question my argument...thanx alot!
