That is way too cool.I bet they would be difficult to get,but a set of spotlights on the front pillars would be awesome as well...Nice car. Pat
Someone say spotlights?? Pat, Got a pair of NOS Unity S-6's. :TU: Just waiting on the proper mounting brackets to come in. :bglasses:
Oh man! I wouldn't mind being pulled over in one of those, or sit in the back. :Brow: General Lee wouldn't stand a chance against that. :bglasses: :beer :TU:
police unit The only place that I have seen Buick police cars was in Calcishieu Parish Louisiana. They were standard shift with 3 on the collum and they would really run.
The only Buick police cars that I know of around here, were the two T-Types that the Pittsburgh Police had. I see the one pretty often its just a dark blue. The dude who owns it plans a repaint in the near future.
Did'nt it was a Police Buick car in TV series Kojak ? If my memory is good (I was very young at this time) It was a 74-76 Buick Century or Regal ? My friend had one of those when we were playing with our HotWheels lol ! Edit : after I saw the post refered by Phil on the AACA Forum I found a picture of the Kojak's 75 Buick police car .
55 Buick Cop Cars Hey guys (us old guys anyway) don't forget those way cool 55 Buick cop cars on the old "Hi-way Patrol" series. 10-4 as Mr. Crawford would say.
yes and some centurys were used in a bunch of 70s movies not many buicks were used because they were upscale cars mostly fords chevys dodges and amcs cause they were cheap
I just got the skirt from my Beacon Ray rechromed. Also, It got a new blue dome and badge mounted. There is even a really loud vintage siren behind the grille now. :eek2: Once I can find the correct #27L & #27R brackets, the Unity spotlights will get mounted. :bglasses:
We have a few Buick police car replicas in the Netherlands, one of them is a 1955 Super. Didn't the FBI order a lot GN's in the late 80's ?
Ted, Thanks for that info. :TU: I would love to see any photos of them that you could find. I am currently waiting to hear if Sloan has any photos in the archives. :beer
There was an episode of Hawaii 5-0 in which the bad guy drove an orange 69 Wildcat, I think he was an undercover cop gone bad. My 1969 Chassis service manual has a chapter in the back showing several cop car parts and part numbers. Doesn't Greg Gessler's 70 have a police speedometer that goes to 200 m.p.h.? Neat stuff!
Now theres a cop car I wouldn't mind seeing in my rearview mirror..................although I'd probably end up in his rearview mirror. :bglasses:
