So I just got my "new" 63 wildcat. doing the basic maintenance and am wondering about this unique twin turbine dynaflow transmission. Obviously different that other automatics, does anyone have any advice on the proper care/maintenance I should be doing for it? Special fluids?
    Thanks..... Tom

Keep the fluid up, (type A, use modern Dextron) and think about getting it serviced, fluid changed and maybe a band adjustment. Look for someone in your area who understands these old things, not some tranny outfit who figures; "Sure, it's an automatic right? Seen one, seen 'em all. What could go wrong?"

Don't beat on it! No neutral slammies! It's the last year for the Dynaflow.

Good luck with the new Wildcat. PM me if you have any questions.

also if you have not already done so, try and find the Dynaflow rebuild manual that is floating out there on ebay and some of the manual sites. The Buick Shop Chassis Manual has a good section devoted to the Dynaflow as well.

Don't keep your foot into it when shifting from low to high.

'63 is the latest and greatest Dynaflow. They are smooth and rugged and don't require any special care, but do what Tom says!
