Hi, Just wanted to say thanks to all who responded to my posting on 455 timing, wires and plugs. I replaced the wires with red MSD 8.5mm, and installed the NGK UR5 spark plugs, and what a difference. Idles smoother and I can set the idle lower. Dramatic reduction in unburnt fuel from the exhaust. Runs great through 6000 rpm, pulls extremely strong. I haven't made any timing changes, as the improvement at idle is so great. It is set at 16*, the mech adv is set at 18*, and no pinging. Thanks again. She's running great again!!
