Is 3.42's to small for a 400 turbo stg3 trans? Last yrs best track time was 12.42 at 117 at 5600 rpm through the trap. Would a 373 or 411 be better?Rear tire size is 285/60/15 M/T e/t drag radial.

Where are your rpm's at the end of the 1/4 compared to when you shift. If they're way down, you need a higher gear or a smaller tire.

I shift each gear at 52-5500 and im close to 5500 at end of 1/4

If you put a higher gear in you'll need to be shifting again.

That is perfect. You want to change that? Why? You're going through the traps at an RPM where your engine is likely making peak HP. It doesn't get any better than that. Your trap speed indicates you have an 11 second ride there. Work on getting the car to hook and 60'.

Ditto that, way into the 11's.
You must be smokin' those sneaker's thru 1st, an into 2nd gears to keep the RPM up so high with that 3.42 rear..

Double check that tire size 455 elcamino, as I'm guessing that your tire is a 275/60x15 which is 28" tall.

Yea that is the tires size. It does spin a bit due to no real weight on the back of the elcamino but only about the first 8-12 ft and the stall flashes about 29-3000 . I try to roll it off the line about the first 8-10ft before cutting loose to try and cut back on wheelspin it helps alot , then its to the floor, neck snappin torque time. lol. First track race is tonight cant wait to try the new build this year.
