This valve body is a 1 off custom made piece. I have never seen another one and it took me a year to find someone to build this one. It allows transbrake application, retains forward shift pattern, AND retains fully automatic upshifts and downshifts when driven in the normal drive postion.

So every postion on your shifter remains the same as your normal shifter......just in low when you can apply the solenoid you get transbrake. The only change in any shifting is you will loose your electric downshift option, as that becomes the source for the electric solenoid for the transbrake solenoid power to come into the case. Edit 1-18, they have a new solenoid that I'm going to upgrade too that will allow kickdown to remain.

I used this for years and it worked very well.....I currently am shipping the body back to the builder to have everything inspected since it has been sitting on my shelf for a few years. I dont expect any issues since it was working 100% when I pulled it out.

Held my 3500 rpm stall converter right to the max stall with no 2 step.......not sure how big of stall it will fully hold.

You will need to tee the brake activation wire to the reverse output switch or select reverse and hold the brake button

asking 1000 shipped to you in the lower 48, other locations we will have to just figure shipping out.

Please get inline and when I get it back I will contact you if the price is different.

The builder does still make and service these units, but no longer sell them straight out, you have to buy a full transmission from them.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have

Any interest by anyone at all???? I could work a deal up on a rebuilt 400 to put this in. I have some room on the price so pm if any interest at all.

The 1000 is not even what I will have in it with the refresh,

I would think someone would have some kind of interest in this.

Could you create a switch so that it can be toggled between the electric solenoid for the transbrake and for the electric downshift?

That would make it very attractive for street/strip

I cant answer that question, I dont 100% know what all was changed in the circuitry to all this to function. The solenoid for the brake is very massive.

I felt that electric detent was a minor thing to give up, you can just as easy drop the shifter from 3 to 2 and get downshift.

I can ask the builder if that is possible

I know in 3rd gear as in all 400s all 3 clutches are applied so the down shift to second occurs by releasing the direct clutch........but I dont know what happens hydraulically inside the the vb to get this to happen.......I do know that the normal kickdown solenoid does cause the line pressure to rise.

And maybe this thing already will downshift at the push ofvthe button......I never asked........I didn't drive it in the street.

I wanted to keep my column shift and have transbrake

So after contacting the builder, there is an option that keeps the downshifts. They have a new solenoid now that has 2 pins on it. 1 is for the transbrake connection. The other for detent. You would need a case plug that took 2 pins not 1.

So I guess I will upgrade to this solenoid to make it more versatile, but will keep the asking price the same. 1000 shipped to the lower 48

Any interest??? PM me eith offer. If no interest I will search other avenues.

I figured there would be someone in the boat I was,.....wanting to launch at a higher rpm than they could footbrake too with preloading the suspension all twisted up........but wanting to retain the forward and auto shifts if street driveb

Vb is on its way back to me next week, I have 200 in making sure it's a good bill of health and upgrading solenoid, going to cut the price too 700.

That's less than buying a traditional brake and swapping shifters because almost all th400 brakes are reverse pattern.

If you car pushes through the brakes at the line, but you still drive it some and dont want to always be shifting every gear up and down here is your answer

No trans, just the brake valve body. If you needed a transmission I'm sure we could that out.

I paid 900 new plus shipping. Shipping back to them, 200 in having it gone through and updated solenoid. I sent it back because it's been sitting on my self a few years and wanted to make sure it was top notch b4 selling...plus shipping back

With all the shipping and updates I probably have closer to 1200 in it.

No if you reread his post it's a custom transbrake setup he had built for a th400. He has a th400 tranny also that he could work a deal on.
Lol sorry Ben we were typing at the same time
