    Hi
I have a TH400 Trans with the following numbers on the Identification plate-tag.

Is 79 the year and the first B for Buick?

If so, whats does the second B means?

Is 11367 the last numbers in a VIN number?

I appreciate any answer about this :TU:

You're close. '79 is the model year, the first letter is "B" for Buick. BB that year translates to a Buick 350 V8 in an Electra. The last digits were the VIN of the Electra as you guessed.

I was thinking that the partial VIN on a Th 400 is engraved on the case pad on the driver's side just above where the pan mates to the case.

Jim, you're correct, my mistake. The number on the tag is actually the transmission's serial number. The VIN is the one stamped into the aluminum case as you mentioned.
