TH400 Fluid capacity

    Does anyone know the trans fluid capacity of a fresh TH400 (just converted to a s/p - if that matters) with an empty converter?

    Ron Sessions' book says 7-8 quarts stock with an empty converter, my '67 chassis manual says 23 pints (11.5 quarts). Not sure why the difference, maybe the big VP converter. A deep sump pan will add to that, and a big aftermarket cooler will add a bit too.

    Thanks Devon, just what I needed. I do also have a deep pan, but figured that I would just add 2 qts to the standard measurement. I will just figure on 12~13 quarts.
