TH350 output shaft end play

    I am about to replace an TH350C with no reverse with a junkyard special TH350. Hopefully it has reverse.

    Should there be any side play in the spined output shaft? The original and the used tranny I am going to replace it with both have about 1/16"-1/8" side play.

    Also, is there a trick to removing the front seal?

    Try putting the drive shaft into the tail housing and then moving that around. That should take up the slop. A seal puller works good for removing the front seal. Type seal puller into google. There are lots of them out there. There are other ways I'm sure.
