Title says it all. I drove the car last week, the tranny was flawless, this week I put it in park and it said "GRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrr" to me, which is actually rude if you ask me

It has developed a leak, I'm hoping it's just low on fluid

    check adjustment of shifter/cable .
might not be engaging all the way into park.
sounds like something hasnt stopped completely when engageing park.

It's on the column :) A rigid rod goes into a linkage and shifts.

    Rod adjust..

The "dog ear" isn't catching all the way..Thats the part that keeps it in park..Simple adjustment to the rod should be all it needs..

:) If I knew how to fix it, I wouldn't have posted. Any hint on how to adjust it? My chassis manuals aren't nearby

sounds like the drum is not stopped by the rear band and causing the pawl to ratchet on the teeth. if i can find a pic or two i will post them.

Where the rod going down attaches to the pivot arm going to the trany there is a 1/2 inch bolt head. Loosen this up and you can adjust the linkage to get the park position correctly engaged.

Actually it seems what it needed was a quart and a half of Dexron

Tranny shop is going to have to stop that leak, seems like the rear seal
