I recently swapped a TH350 Automatic Transmission for my old ST300 in my '68 resto project. Now I need the gas pedal from a TH350 car so I can hook up the cable detent. (kickdown cable) The tranny is from a '73 Century. .....John

I believe that the kickdown cable connects to the throttle linkage at the carb. This is the way I remember it on my '69 GS California. Take a look at the assy manual for '69 Skylark/Special for the exact details.

i just looked at the '69 in my garage and the kickdown goes
through the firewall to the gas pedal, right below the accel.

I remember having a heck of a time finding a good replacement detent cable for a 71 skylark I had a couple of years ago. Someone from this board finally hooked me up. I remember it definitely went from the pedal to the transmission, and a local transmission shop told me I was wrong about it when I called to see if they could get me a new cable. They told me all GM th350 detents go to the carb.

it goes from the trans to the pedal, thats why you need a 69-72 pedal. it has the 2 holes, 1 for the throttle and 1 for the kick down.

John you will have to drill a hole in the firewall and square it up with a die grinder or if you know someone that has a square punch it would work better. i just did this to my 68. do you still need the pedal from me or did you find another??

I have a pedal and cable that came from a 71 GS that you can have for shipping. I am not sure how good the cable is. It weems to work but has some splits in the exterior coating. Looks useable though.
